The people who pay a percentage of each sale to the company that provides the devices not only get the equipment at no cost they get a service contract as well. If their equipment needs to be repaired or replaced the company will come free of charge to fix it.
These service contracts usually cover the upgrades and the antivirus software required to protect the information being transmitted through the systems. These devices were once hard wired like land line telephones, but they are now wireless, like the cell phones and internet connections are.
The main problem with these devices comes when the lights go out. A power outage means that the equipment cannot be used and anyone that wants to buy something will have to do so using cold, hard, cash.
Each of us has used one of these devices and as we learn to rely on cards and accounts more and more we will inevitably use them more frequently as time goes by.
